Summary
Intelligent Logistics provides several ways to monitor the delivery performance of packages, depending on where a package is in its lifecycle. This article provides users with an explanation what each data point means.
Solution
Below are the different different points available within the column settings button of the Tracking Summary application.
DATA POINTS FOR SHIPMENTS IN-PROGRESS
The following data point can be used a projection when a package is in-transit.
Delivery Schedule: Determines whether a package is ahead of schedule, on schedule or delayed based on the Scheduled Delivery Date from the carrier. In cases where the Delivery Schedule = No Longer Scheduled, this means that a Scheduled Delivery Date is not currently available. There can be different reasons for this, including:
- The carrier has not yet determined the Scheduled Delivery Date.
- Exception statuses – usually, once the package is no longer in an exception status, the carrier will update the Scheduled Delivery Date accordingly.
- Available for Pick-up – the package has been dropped off at an access point for pick-up.
DATA POINTS FOR COMPLETED SHIPMENTS
The following data points can be used to assess the performance of packages that have already been delivered.
Delivery Schedule Delay (Days): The number of full days between the Scheduled Delivery Date and actual Delivery Date that a package was delayed.
Delivery Schedule Delay (Decimal): The number of days, down to the decimal point, between the Scheduled Delivery Date and actual Delivery Date that a package was delayed.
Delivery Schedule Delay (Hour): The number of hours between the Scheduled Delivery Date and actual Delivery Date that a package was delayed.
Delivery Schedule Delay (Minutes): The number of minutes between the Scheduled Delivery Date and actual Delivery Date that a package was delayed.
Delivery Schedule Delayed By: Indicates whether a package was late by at least one full day (Days), or by hours/minutes (Time).
Delivery Schedule In-time: Indicates whether the package was delivered on or before the Initial Scheduled Delivery Date/Time, regardless of fault.
Delivery Schedule On-time: Indicates whether the package was delivered on (not before or after) the Initial Scheduled Delivery Date/Time.
