Summary
The purpose of this use to case is to demonstrate how to view the total number of exceptions, grouped by exception type. The data from this query will help users compare and contrast exception types between their shipper accounts to identify issues and track trends. Visualizations help users to recognize facts and situations, and reduce the number of interaction steps needed to gain insights or to identify significant single instances with exception types.
Solution
For this case, we will demonstrate how to view total exceptions within the Exception Type Account Analysis (Chart List) Application. To begin, click on the Exception Type Account Analysis (Chart List) Tile.
Next, click 'Go' on the right side of the page so that the data populates within the table.
Now, click on the Chart 'Settings' Icon on the right side of the page.
You will now be looking at the Chart Settings Page. Within these settings, you are able to refine what populates into your final chart. The drop down menu on the top left will dictate which type of Chart will be created, in this case we will use a Bar Chart. The list of Check boxes correspond to which fields will populate into your final Chart. If a box is checked, that means that field will populate into your final Chart. A 'Measure' is whatever information you a trying to quantify, in this case, select 'Total Exceptions.' A 'Category' is whatever information you would like the information to be grouped upon, in this case, select 'Transit Exception Type'. All other possible fields can be removed from this table.
Once your settings match the screenshot below, click 'OK' to return to the main tile view.
Now that you are looking at the main Tile view. Click 'Go' on the right side of the page to initiate the population of data into your table, then click the 'Maximize' Icon in order to look at a full-screen view of your Chart.
Your final Chart should look similar to the below:
