Summary
The Chart List applications contain an assortment of different charts for users to visualize their data. One of those is the heat chart, helping to indicate how common a certain category is active over time. For this example we will look at the 'Exception Type Monthly Analysis' Chart List.
Solution
The Exception Type Monthly Analysis is meant to highlight to users which exception types have occurred, how often they occur and how this varies month to month. The standard chart that appears in this application is a heat map, with month/year on the x-axis and the type of exception on the y-axis.
Clicking 'Maximize' will bring a full screen view of the heat map. This map is interactive, and holding your mouse over a tile will show more information.
Clicking on an individual cell, row or column will activate the information, with more information on these cells available by clicking the 'Details' button, the number indicating the amount of activated cells.
The activated cells will also then be in the table on the Exception Type Monthly Analysis page. Here you can see all of the tracking units represented in the activated cells and users can filter them in the same ways as other tables.
Additionally, users have the ability to customize the heat map. Clicking on 'Settings' allows users to choose the active fields and how they apply to the chart. Clicking 'OK' will apply your settings.
