Summary
The purpose of this article is to demonstrate for customer service teams how to find more information about a specific tracking unit.
Overview
Being able to proactively monitor and act on various situations is critical for customer service and logistics teams. Intelligent Logistics offers a simple way to view the historical events associated with your tracking units and provides automated solutions that help your team save time. In this example, we will utilize the Tracking Unit List application to demonstrate how to obtain this data using the Tracking Unit Details screen.
Solution
Within the Tracking Unit List application:
- Paste the tracking number into the Tracking Number filter.
- Click into the Created On Date filter and delete the default date listed.
- This is to ensure the tracking number will be displayed when searching, in the event the data was generated more than 28 days ago.
- Click Go.
A row of data will be displayed with the initial details of the tracking unit. Click anywhere within that row to be taken to the Tracking Unit Details screen.
A screen will appear on the right, providing an initial view of the Tracking Unit Details. To open this in a full screen, click the Full Screen button which is located beneath the User Menu, shown in the image below.
The Tracking Unit Details screen contains a series of links across the top that enable the user to jump directly to that portion of the screen, starting with General Information and ending with Administration.
If we scroll to the Carrier portion of the screen, we can see that there has been 1 attempt by the carrier to deliver this package on July 27th, and it's currently in a Delayed status. A Scheduled Delivery Date has not been determined at this time.
All applicable address information will be displayed within the Partners section.
Scroll to the Events section and click on the Detailed View. This will provide the user with a timeline of all the scanned events associated with this package that the carrier has passed along via the data feed. This allows the user to see what has occurred and when, as well as the location of the scanned event.
If a package has received a Proof of Delivery, that can be downloaded from the Proof of Delivery section. If a tracking unit is part of a multi-unit shipment, the user can view the associated tracking units within the Related Tracking Unit section.
Setting Up Notifications
In cases where a shipment needs to be monitored, users can set up notifications to receive an automatic email alert for specific tracking numbers using Intelligent Logistics. These alerts will notify the user when the tracking unit has reached a specific status.
