A Chart List is a type of application that is designed to help users explore data visually, identify key trends or anomalies, and act on transactional carrier content. Chart Lists offer unique ways to further analyze data, including drill-down, Pivot View, and of course, the map feature.
Chart Lists combine data visualization, business intelligence, and interactive analysis to guide users step-by-step through datasets. Whether you're identifying patterns or drilling down to a root cause, the Chart List enables fast, intuitive insight thorugh the following:
-
Data Exploration Made Simple
Visualizations allow users to quickly recognize facts, spot deviations, and pinpoint significant instances with fewer clicks. -
All-in-One Workspace
Charts, filters, and tables are integrated into a single-page layout—no need to switch between systems or pages. -
Actionable Intelligence
Users working with transactional content can directly access and act on business objects while simultaneously reviewing analytical data. -
Root Cause Analysis
Drill-down capabilities enable deeper analysis through both charts and tables, helping users investigate issues at a granular level.
My Views
The Chart List layout is flexible, adapting based on the selected view and header state. Users can toggle between multiple display options depending on their workflow needs.
Filter Area
The Chart List includes two types of filters:
-
Filter Bar (image left)
Compact and efficient, ideal for quick selections. - Visual Filter Bar (image right)
An interactive, graphical way to select filters. Note: these visual charts display a limited number of values (e.g., 3 entries per filter by default), but this does not limit the data represented in the main report. Additional values are still included and can be accessed by scrolling within the filter chart.
Filter Type Switch
Users can toggle between the the filter bar and visual filter bar in the upper-right area of the page header. The switch is only displayed when the page header is expanded. Once the header collapses, it disappears.
Content Area: Three Flexible Views
The main content area displays data using one of three views:
1. Hybrid View
Combines both chart and table visualizations. Users can:
-
Interact with charts and tables simultaneously
-
Drill down into data from either view
-
Act directly on transactional data
2. Chart-Only View
Focuses purely on data analysis through visualization.
Users can:
-
Analyze trends visually
-
Drill down into data sets
-
View insights without direct actionability
Tip: Customize chart type, categories, and axes using the Settings button.
3. Table-Only View
Best for operational work with transactional data.
Users can:
-
Select single or multiple objects
-
Navigate to object details or launch related applications
Switch Views
Use the view toggle buttons in the center of the app header to switch between hybrid, chart-only, and table-only modes.
Pivot View
Pivot View is a feature exclusively in Chart List applications that let users dynamically restructure and summarize data — similar to pivot tables in Excel.
With Pivot View, users can break out and aggregate data across up to three dimensions, giving them a flexible and intuitive way to explore patterns, compare metrics, or identify performance trends.
Key Features:
-
Aggregate data using up to three selectable elements (e.g., region, carrier, product type)
-
Visualize and analyze data based on current filter selections
-
Spot outliers, trends, or exceptions more easily by customizing how the data is grouped
Example Use Cases:
-
Analyze shipment costs by carrier, then break down further by route and delivery type
-
Review delivery performance by region, then drill into service level optimization and time periods
Pivot View works seamlessly with other Chart List features and updates in real time with any filters applied.
