Summary
Intelligent Logistics provides insight into various types of charges through the Charge Classification filter, which organizes carrier charge codes into one of the following categories:
- Base/Transportation Charge
- Brokerage/Duty/Tax
- Controllable/Wasteful Charge
- Discount
- Electable Charge
- Opt In Accessorial Charge
- Potentially Controllable Charge
Through the Wasteful Spending application, users can quickly filter to see trends in their carrier spend based on one or more of these charge categories. By default, this application will filter based on the highlighted categories noted above, as these are the areas in which customers are more likely to have some control over within their carrier contract.
Please note: this application displays Secondary Charge data, which is typically passed by UPS Small Parcel and FedEx. If a logistics carrier does not pass a secondary charge type, the data will not be displayed here. As an alternative, users may utilize the Charge Type Trend Analysis.
